14.55x ROI From Facebook & Instagram Ads For Furniture Retailer (A Meta Ads Case Study)
by Will Williamson on 22-Jun-2026 10:00:01

This client is a UK-based furniture retailer specialising in handcrafted dining tables, dining chairs and rustic furniture. The majority of their sales come through e-commerce, with customers across the UK purchasing directly through their website.
When they first approached JDR, the business had experienced a significant decline in revenue. Sales had fallen from a peak of around £1.2 million per year to approximately half that figure, forcing difficult decisions, including staff redundancies.
They needed to increase sales quickly and improve the return they were getting from their marketing investment.
Facebook & Instagram Ads NOT Working
The client was already investing in Facebook and Instagram advertising through another agency, but the results were not delivering the return they needed.
Despite spending money on Meta Ads, they were not generating enough revenue from the campaigns, and the quality of traffic and customers was below expectations.
At the same time, the business faced several additional challenges:
- Revenue had fallen significantly from previous levels
- The website was experiencing technical issues
- They were heavily reliant on Etsy, with marketplace fees reducing profitability
- Marketing activity lacked a clear strategy
- There was no CRM, automation, or long-term marketing system in place
The immediate priority was clear: generate more sales from Meta Ads without increasing advertising spend.
The Solution
As part of a wider marketing programme, we rebuilt the client's Meta advertising strategy from the ground up.
This included:
- Restructuring campaign architecture
- Refining audience targeting
- Creating new advertising creatives
- Improving campaign messaging
- Introducing a more strategic budget allocation process
- Continuously optimising campaigns based on performance data
Alongside the Meta campaign improvements, we also supported the launch of a new Shopify website, implemented HubSpot CRM and introduced improved marketing tracking, giving the business a stronger platform for future growth.
By analysing performance data and reallocating budget towards the highest-performing audiences and adverts, we were able to significantly improve campaign efficiency while reducing wasted spend.
The Results

14.55x Return On Ad Spend
The most impressive result was the dramatic improvement in return on ad spend.
The Meta Ads campaigns achieved a return on ad spend of 14.55, representing an 85.8% increase year on year.
Revenue Increased By 81%
Website conversion value reached £49,245.84, an increase of 81% compared with the previous year.
Importantly, this growth was achieved while reducing advertising spend slightly, demonstrating that the campaigns were becoming significantly more efficient.
Improved Engagement And Higher Quality Traffic
The new campaigns generated stronger audience engagement, with page engagement increasing by 23.3%.
This increase in engagement translated into more qualified website visitors and higher-value customers.
Better Results Without Increasing Spend
Advertising spend reduced by 2.6%, while performance improved substantially.
This meant the client achieved significantly better results from the same marketing budget, creating a much more scalable and sustainable advertising strategy.
The Business Impact
For a business that had seen revenue decline dramatically, these results provided a much-needed turnaround in online sales performance.
Meta Ads became a profitable sales channel, helping to generate consistent revenue while supporting the wider growth strategy that included a new website, SEO, content marketing and CRM implementation.
Most importantly, the business was able to generate more sales without increasing advertising spend, improving profitability and creating a stronger platform for future growth.
