3 Valentine’s Day Campaign Ideas to Warm Your Customers’ Hearts

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner (it’s next Friday, people), there’s never been a better time to show your customers how much you appreciate them. Here are three Valentines campaign ideas to help warm your customers’ hearts and rekindle the relationship for the year ahead.
1. Time-limited Valentine’s Day Deals
Valentine’s Day comes but once a year, so to mark this, roll out a cheeky time-limited offer that aligns with the spirit of the season – think discounts, free upgrades, and bundle packages. If you’ve got a Valentines-specific product or service to offer, then so much the better, but all product-based businesses – both B2C and B2B – have the potential to benefit from Valentines deals. For example, for seven days around Valentine’s Day, you could offer a ‘buy one gift one’ promotion where your customers can acquire an additional product for free to give to someone they care about. Promote the deal with themed visuals and marketing messages, ‘such as share the love this Valentine’s Day!’
2. Show your love on social media
Valentine’s Day is, first and foremost, a celebration of romantic relationships, but it can also be a time that people take to social media to show their love for long-time friends, parents, and loved ones. As a business, you can use your social media platforms to show your appreciation with we love our customers posts and shout outs, while encouraging your customers to promote your business through UGC (user generated content).
It could work like this: ask your social media followers to share their favourite experiences or pictures with your products or services, using a Valentine-themed hashtag linked to your brand. For every person who shares UGC, share the message with a thank you shout out using another hashtag – e.g. #lovefromJDR (swap out with your brand name) to tie the campaign together. This is a fun and easy way to increase engagement without any financial outlay.
3. Appreciation packages for your high-value customers
A lot of Valentines-themed deals are geared towards B2C businesses selling high-volume, relatively low value products with a short sales cycle. But what about B2B businesses with higher value products, a longer sales cycle, and a smaller customer base? If anything, this business model gives you even more flexibility to show genuine, personal appreciation to your key customers.
Use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to send a small token of appreciation to show them how much the business relationship means to you and how special they are. This could be anything you think they might like – a handwritten thank you card, chocolates, branded merchandise (if appropriate), a discount code, or even a box of doughnuts or case of wine. No need to overthink it: receiving a personalised package like this at their office is guaranteed to put a smile on your customer’s face, and will help to strengthen customer loyalty while also leaving a lasting and positive impression.
