Setting up your page

1. Decide on a classification

2. Provide details about the business

You will now be taken to a page where you must describe your business page and provide your website URL. This improves your ranking in the Facebook search results. Give your Facebook page a name then move onto the next step.

Tip: The ‘About’ description will be ranked in Google, so make sure it is descriptive and rich in targeted keywords. 

3. Upload a profile picture

Next you will be asked to upload a profile photo for your page, which can be an image of you, your business or products; whatever you feel represents the brand image. You can either upload from your computer or from your website. 

4. Add to favourites 

Facebook invites you to add the page to your favourites so you can easily access it from your personal account.

5. Add payment method

This isn’t compulsory, but you can add payment details in advance if you wish to use Facebook Advertising to market your business further. You will reach more people who you aren’t connected to, build awareness and generate more leads for a very reasonable price if you choose to advertise as well. 

6. Get marketing!

Now your Facebook business page is set up, you can easily begin marketing activities. ‘Like’ your own page and invite friends to like it too. See messages, notifications, new Likes and Insights clearly on your personal profile and invite friends to join the page.
