There is no doubt about it, YouTube has completely changed the way we do certain tasks and has changed the way we use the internet. Videos are becoming more and more powerful and have become a part of everyday life now. You can't help but to speak to family and friends about the latest videos you have seen. If you are ever unsure on how to do something, you go straight to YouTube and there are always a large amount of videos to help. With this being said, you may be surprised to know that many businesses are totally ignoring video marketing as a marketing tool. When used effectively, video marketing can dramatically increase traffic to your website and can bring in new customers.

With a reported user rate of 1 billion per month you can see why so many people rate YouTube, and this figure does not look like it is slowing down anytime soon. YouTube is considered to be one of the best video platforms in the world and it is easy to see why. With being able to upload videos so easily there is no reason why your business shouldn't have a YouTube profile. Creating a profile is the easy bit, getting good views and traffic back to your site is where the hard work starts. You may be in an industry where you think YouTube won't help, but I am sure this is not the case. For example, take a common question that is asked in your industry. Now take the question and put it into YouTube, are helpful videos coming up? 9 times out of 10 this will be the case, and if your clients/customers are taking to YouTube for answers, then you could be missing out on starting new relationships.
YouTube relationships can soon lead to new customer relationships, and this can be done in a number of ways. A lot of businesses think that YouTube is merely for 'joke' and 'funny' videos, and although YouTube is known for internet video sensations, you can soon turn it around to benefit your business! This will not only help answer peoples common questions but it can also show you're a market expert. This can go a long way as you will soon get a name for yourself in your industry. Also people watching the ‘how to’ videos will more likely make enquires on your website when they are ready to learn more.
Workforce Challenges – Give new customers an opportunity to learn more about your work members. This can be great for building that extra bit of trust, as your customers will be able to put a face and personality to your staff.
Charity Fundraisers – If you're a business that does a lot of charity fundraising then why not film your adventure? This will give great awareness for the charity you're fundraising for, and it will also show the human side to your business.
Promotional – There is nothing wrong with uploading self promotional videos, it is a great chance for customers to learn more about the products or services you offer. A great feature to add is a call-to-action at the end of the video to help prompt people to either call or visit your website.

A common phrase is 'video views don't turn into customers', and this is a common misconception. Just because a customer has watched a 'how to' video it does not mean they will simply watch and leave. If you successfully put your brand to your videos, you will soon become a known expert in your industry, and what can be better than that? The more people that see and hear about your business and your brand, the more traffic you will see to your website.

The more you can show customers about your brand and your business, the more you will stay in people’s minds.
